THE SALVINIANS

Even if suffering from a recent consensus decline, Salvini's Lega party counts on a mass of hard core fans ready to do anything for their leader, worshipped like a rock star and seen as the saviour of the country. Gatherings and rallies attract droves of people ready to travel by any means to acclaim their prophet, who entertains his supporters with simple and straightforward slogans filled with racist, anti-establishment and anti-European sentiments. Old pensioners, families, housewives, small entrepreneurs together with the new furious generation of extreme right-wingers all join the large crowd of "Salvinians".
