NO WOMAN NO CRY

The conflict in Ukraine has so far forced more than 7 million people to flee their homes in an exodus not seen since the Second World War. While men between the ages of 18 and 60 have been forced to stay at home to protect their land, women have fled to neighbouring countries under the threat of shelling and fighting on their doorstep to save their lives and those of their children. Family, friends and everything else had to be left behind. Lives interrupted. Arriving at a shelter at the Polish border, these women show the most important possessions they were able to bring with them on their escape. Often a symbolic object, a photograph, a pet, a link to the past and hope for the future.
